This book is dedicated to the love of my life, my wife Kristy. The threat of losing her to HELLP Syndrome has forced me to reevaluate how much I love her, cherish her and need her. She is an incredible wife, mother and friend. It’s amazing how God brought us together and then refused to let us be torn apart by this disease.
I was inspired to write this book to encourage other couples out there to never give up when faced with a life or death situation. I wanted to share our story to educate and inspire others who may be going through a difficult trial in their lives.
Understanding and Coping with HELLP Syndrome
As with all complications that occur during pregnancy, a diagnosis of HELLP syndrome can be frightening to a new mother and her family. Educating patients about this disease can help reduce that fear and allow for calm, rational decisions to be made regarding treatment.
What is HELLP Syndrome?
Usually understood to be a variant of preeclampsia, HELLP syndrome is named for an abbreviation of the main symptomatic conditions used to diagnose the condition hemolytic anemia, elevated liver enzymes, and a low platelet count. This condition, like preeclampsia and eclampsia, generally occurs during the later stages of pregnancy, but can sometimes surface even after childbirth. The exact cause of the disease is unknown, and there is no known way to prevent it from occurring; however, certain risk factors may allow doctors to assess risk levels during pregnancy.

Great story Paul. Kristy purely is a miracle. It was your fith in God.
Reading this book refreshed my faith in so many ways. It is sometimes difficult to notice God working in your own life day-to-day. Reading about Paul's amazing journey to know God and stand strong in his faith through life's most difficult circumstances was inspiring. Prayers for HELLP is a quick and easy read. I thoroughly enjoyed it!
Great testimony to the power of prayer and God's faithfulness to hear and answer our prayers. The author's strong faith and the support of a caring body of fellow believers carried him through this unimaginable trial. This book is a must read and reminds us how holding on to God's promises is so important whether going about our every day lives or dealing with a crisis such and Paul and Kristi went through.
I could not put the book down read it in its entirety in about two hours.
It may very well be the most important book I've ever read on how to pray and communicate with God
as the unlimited power of humbly seeking Him.
The lessons on both prayer and seeking His wisdom for our lives are some of the best I've ever seen written.
My walk with God has deepened due to reading this book.
The author has nothing less than living miracles in both his wife and daughter.

I picked up this book last night to start reading it and I could not put it down. Paul gave a very candid account of his life story and his adventures before meeting Kristy, his wife. His testimony of his path to Christianity is powerful. I enjoyed watching the love story between him and his wife Kristy unfold. My heart went out to Paul and his family when he almost lost his wife and their newborn baby’s health was at risk. It was amazing to see God’s hand in the midst and bless this family with a miracle. I felt renewed in my own faith after reading his book. I applaud the author for telling his story, sharing his faith and bringing awareness to the HELLP Syndrome. May God continue to bless the Ambrogio family!
Great book about how prayer can intercede in all our lives, especially at those critcal moments and events in our lives. It is also great to read a book showing the impact HELLPs has on families. This book is a great read and really captures a families struggle and through it all, how we can still love and lean on Jesus. I pray this book reaches many people struggling and in need. I also hope this inspiring book becomes available in paper back or hard cover so I can buy multiple copies to send to family and friends. Great job Paul Ambrogio and blessings to you and your family and thank you for sharing your life and intimate struggles.

There are two stories here. First Paul's story of his life before Christ, his salvation, then his truly changed life after coming to know Christ. Second is the story of his wife Kristy and daughter Sophia with their amazing struggles with the medical syndrome known as HELLP. It is clear that God has tested and loved this family.
